Launch Template Explorer
One way to start a code generation session is with Template Explorer. Just as File Explorer organizes the files and folders on your computer, Template Explorer organizes templates.
To launch Template Explorer, select CodeSmith Generator Explorer in the CodeSmith Generator folder of the Windows Start menu. Template Explorer opens with a view of the template folders in your CodeSmith Generator installation, including the sample templates.
Note
CodeSmith Generator Explorer is the name you see in the title bar. It's a window that hosts Template Explorer.
You can also open Template Explorer inside Visual Studio: on the Generator menu, select Template Explorer. See Visual Studio integration.
Tip
If you haven't activated Generator yet, an activation dialog appears when you launch Template Explorer. Click Try to continue with this tutorial, or Register to activate your license.
