Installing and upgrading

These pages cover installing CodeSmith Generator and keeping it, and your templates, up to date.

After installing, activate Generator.

Upgrade Generator

1. Upgrade your existing Generator license key with the upgrade form. If you have questions, contact sales.
2. You receive an email with your new key and a download link.
3. Download and run the Generator installer. It upgrades any previous installation of Generator for you.
4. Launch Template Explorer and activate Generator with the key from step 2.
5. If you use custom template assemblies or template frameworks, follow Upgrading CodeSmith Generator templates.
