Custom metadata sources

When you need more than .NET types, SchemaExplorer and XML properties, you can use your own types as metadata. CodeSmith Generator lets you hook almost anything into the property grid as a metadata source. To make a custom type work smoothly with the rest of Generator, you may need to do some coding:

Page What you learn
Adding designer support Give your type an editor in the property grid, or use one of the editors that ship with Generator.
Adding property set support Control how your type's values are saved with a property serializer.

Tip

Before you build your own, check the editors in CodeSmith.CustomProperties.
